How to Username Configuration in Mikrotik Router?

User Configuration and Username Mikrotik Router – By default on Mikrotik Router, there is one user that can access RouterOS that is the user with username: admin and no password. Username is what we initially used to login to RouterOS Mikrotik as login in Winbox. Well, this time Techsoftcenter.com will discuss about the explanation of user access categories and the addition of users on the router Mikrotik.

Users who can login to the Mikrotik Router can be grouped into 3 categories, namely.

  1. Full -> user who has this access is a user with the highest rank, which can configure such as delete configuration, add configuration, to add a new user into system Mikrotik.
  2. Write -> This user has access configuration such as the user who has full access, but can not add new user, and also can not do configuration backup process.
  3. Read -> The user with this access is only capable of monitoring the system, unable to configure the user with the Write or Full level.

To view the user list in the MikroTik system, can use command line command:

[admin @ MikroTik]> user print
Or through winbox with System -> users menu

To add a new user click on the + icon, enter the username, select the access category in the Group box, fill in the password as well.
The Allowed Allowed Address option is used if the created user is only allowed to login through a certain IP address, for example, the user can only login through the ether1 interface then fill it with IP address ether1 eg: 192.168.100.0/24. But if not filled then the user can access from any interface.
