How to Install Mikrotik Hotspot?

Let’s see step by step how to install Hotspot Server in MikroTik routers.

1- Winbox application is downloaded on the login page of the MikroTik site.

Here, our computer operating system 64 bit or 32 bit whichever we are downloading.

2- Run the Winbox application and enter the IP / MAC information of the Mikrotik device and connect to the interface of the Mikrotik device. If you do not know the IP / MAC information, click the Browse button in the “Connect To:” field to access the desired information.

3- After the login, click the IP -> Addresses tab and click the Add button. Here you have to enter which interface to set as Hotspot Server. After the IP / Subnet, Network information is written, which interface is to be configured is selected and saved by clicking the Apply button. You can also enter a comment by clicking the Comment button so that the IP address we enter here does not interfere with other addresses.

4-In step, go to the IP -> Accounting tab, where Enable Accounting and Account Local Traffic are enabled in the Traffic Accounting window.

5- After these operations, go to the Radius tab. Hotspot and login checkboxes are selected in the New Radius Server window. In addition, the IP address is entered in the address field and the one-time password to be used when adding a Mikrotik device is determined and the apply and arrow buttons are pressed.

6- Click the Incoming button with the  Radius window and select the Accept option from there. Select the port number as 3799 and exit by clicking Apply.

7- In the next step, go to the IP -> Hotspot window and click on the Hotspot Setup button on the Servers tab and select the interface for Hotspot configuration in the opened window and continue by saying Next.

8- In the next window, the IP addresses to be used in local for the selected interface are written.

9- Address Pool the interval is determined.

10- Select Certificate option is continued by selecting None option.

11- SMTP Server option should be left as 0.0.0.0 and continue.

12- Enter DNS Servers and DNS Name information and then click Next.

13- After this process, the Hotspot Setup will be done successfully.

14- In this step, go to the Server Profiles tab. Click on the created profile and go to the login tab and select only HTTP PAP.

15- In this step, go to the RADIUS tab and select Use RADIUS and Accounting. After you have entered the Interim Update information, click Apply and OK to exit.

16. After this process, the attached login.html and alogin.html files are opened and the fields indicated in the following picture for both files are entered as Techsoftcenter IP. These files are then discarded by dragging them into the hotspot folder by opening the Files tab on Mikrotik.

17- Next, go to the Walled Garden IP List tab and set the required permissions so that users can go to the Techsoftcenter welcome screen and Techsoftcenter to the Internet. Click the Add button in the upper left and select the Hotspot Server profile. Then Src. Enter the Techsoftcenter IP in the Address field and click Apply. The same process is done a second time in Dst. Techsoftcenter IP is entered and saved in the Address section.

18- After completing these operations, go to the device list in the Techsoftcenter Hotspot module and click Add Device button. After entering the required information here, the key that we give in the Radius option is entered into the Secret Key field and the integration process is completed by clicking the Save button.
