How to Filter MAC Address in DHCP Traffic with Wireshark?

Fadıl

If any computer on the Windows DHCP server has a problem getting a rope, you may want to open and examine the Wireshark. However, depending on the size of your network, there will be a large number of packets in the DHCP server, and it will be difficult to monitor only the packets from the computer that are experiencing the problem. In such a case, you can filter only the packets from the corresponding MAC address using the filter shown below.

Virtual Access Point Mikrotik

Fadıl

Virtual Access Point (VAP) on Mikrotik is a virtual interface that can be used to create multiple Access Point from one physical Wireless interface. So with just one physical Wireless interface alone, we can create multiple Access Point with SSID, IP address, and MAC Address different each AP.

Virtual Access Point on Mikrotik can also use DHCP Server on each VAP. In addition, we can also set the firewall on this VAP interface. The feature is the same as in Virtual LAN (VLAN) on a wired network.

How about if you become a network admin in a workplace, but many employees play online games on mobile phone, or even most of them addicted to playing online games.

While you are assigned by the boss to block access to online games that make the employees less responsibility with their respective work obligations. We will discuss in this tutorial.

The game apps that will be targeted for blocked access are examples of apps like Clash of Clans for other online games can be tried on their own by following the same way there are only a few that are distinguished.

What is a LAN Switch?

Logically, we really need to start with the question, what is a LAN switch?

A LAN switch is a OSI model Layer 2 device, logically similar to a bridge. We’ll primarily focus on Ethernet (Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet) switches but much of what we say also applies to Token Ring and FDDI.

As you know, bridges learn where computers are by observing source MAC addresses in LAN frames as they pass through the bridge. After first powering on, a bridge forwards frames on all ports and is pretty much indistinguishable from a hub/repeater (except that it regenerates frames, so it does not count towards the Ethernet cable length limitation or hub/repeater 5-4-3 rule). As the bridge learns which MAC address was sourced on which port, it can then be selective about what port(s) a frame is forwarded to, only forwarding the frame to the port appropriate for the destination MAC address.

Mikrotik Transparent Bridge for Hotspot

Fadıl

Transparent Bridge Mikrotik can be used to shoot/capture the WiFi signal from somewhere else with a certain distance.

Development in this tutorial is on the use of both devices Mikrotik as Transparent Bridge Mikrotik. So there will be two transparent bridge proxy is used to connect the client to an internet source. This will make the client as if directly connected to the Internet without going through Mikrotik source, which is characterized by the IP address obtained by the client automatically in the network with IP Router Internet sources. Double Transparent Bridge Mikrotik can also be referred to as a Repeater WiFi signal.
