The Android market is very vast which include many applications, games, apps for developers and many more. Being a Linux Administrator I was looking for android application which can help for Linux administrators.

There is much android application for Linux Administrators but I have found some of them which you also like.

Server Monitor

It is a great admin application which takes your look over networks and web servers status. The integration of notification feature which popups when your server is down. Very easy to configure and use, check status very frequently. It supports plain TCP connections as well as SSH tunnels.

If you want to resize your photos to put them on your blog or website. How can I reboot or shutdown BSD (FreeBSD) based system? (Command shutdown -h 0 is not working.)

Answer

FreeBSD or other BSD uses the shutdown or halt command to shutdown system. To reboot FreeBSD/BSD box use reboot command.

Shutdown FreeBSD

Use shutdown command to close down the system at a given time. You can type the following command to shutdown system immediately:

# shutdown -h  now

or

# halt

Reboot FreeBSD

Use the following command:

By default, remote root access is disabled for security reasons. However, you can still enable it by configuring sshd.
Enable Root Login

vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Replace the in:

#PermitRootLogin no

with

PermitRootLogin yes

save and close it.
Auto Start SSH

vi /etc/rc.conf

If there is no such a line

sshd_enable="YES"

add it, then save it.
Restart sshd

/etc/rc.d/sshd restart
